New Moon; Now the work begins

It is almost summer. It is already 100 degrees F in Phoenix but is still in the high 70s / low 80s here in the California Delta (halfway between San Francisco and Sacramento). I have moved on to New Moon which is berthed in a Marina near the Antioch Bridge. The galley is not in working order so I am going up the road each morning for a "Mc" breakfast. and again mid day for a meal of some sort (Subway Sandwich, etc.). I have run water to the boat in a hose with a garden nozzle. I have removed the flush toilet from the head and have replaced it with a small chem toilet. I am removing all the plumbing that served the toilet. I have also removed all the navigation electronics (circa 1980) and will replace those with an updated radio with AIS and a Garmin chartplotter. I have left the depth sounder for the time being not knowing if it works or not. There is a small spot in the cabin roof where an air duct was mounted that has serious rot. I have removed the air duct and will replace the tongue & groove planking in that area. I am also cleaning out the bilges and am intending to fill in a portion of rotted plank from the inside with a marine epoxy that cures in the presence of water.

I will report on projects with pics as I go along. There is so much to do!
